SMSMETER DECISION GUIDE

Crypto top-up pending: check a sent payment

Short answer. A pending crypto top-up is not spendable USD credit. Check the SMSMeter invoice, then the sending wallet: did it broadcast a transaction, and on which coin, network and address? If there is a transaction hash, check its status on that network and compare the amount actually delivered with the invoice’s exact crypto amount. Chain confirmation alone does not credit your account. Keep the invoice reference and transaction hash if confirmed funds are still missing, and do not send again while the first transfer is unresolved.

DECISION GUIDE

Work through the decision

Use the relevant conditions and records for your own case.

Identify which step is pending

An invoice records payment instructions; opening it or copying its QR does not send funds. Check the sending wallet or exchange for a withdrawal record. If no on-chain transaction hash is available, determine whether the transfer is still awaiting approval or broadcast there. A missing hash by itself does not prove why a transfer stopped.

If there is a hash, use an explorer for the network actually used. An unconfirmed transaction is a sender/network question; a confirmed transaction with no SMSMeter credit calls for a comparison of the recipient, coin, network and delivered amount with the invoice. Coinbase’s deposit guidance and CoinGate’s status definitions illustrate these separate stages; neither describes SMSMeter’s own validation timing or guarantees its credit outcome.

Check coin, network and invoice details

SMSMeter lists BTC, ETH, SOL, TRX and LTC on their named networks, USDT on Tron TRC-20 or Ethereum ERC-20, and USDC on Ethereum ERC-20. USDT on TRC-20 and USDT on ERC-20 are different payment routes. Match the invoice’s token, named network, recipient address and exact crypto amount against the sender’s transaction. The QR contains the address only; it does not select the correct network or transfer amount in your wallet.

The minimum top-up is $20 USD of account funding, not $20 of activation spend and not a fixed amount of crypto. A new invoice converts the selected USD funding amount to an exact crypto quote for that coin and network. Check whether the sender deducts a network or withdrawal fee from the amount delivered. That outside fee does not add USD account credit or change the later number price. If the delivered amount differs from the invoice, preserve the evidence rather than guessing the credit outcome.

If the transaction used a different token, network or destination, do not assume it can be found or recovered. Coinbase warns that unsupported networks can cause loss; this is a general risk, not SMSMeter recovery policy. Keep the invoice and transaction references. Never share a private key, recovery phrase or account password.

Separate the top-up from the activation charge →

Treat expiry and late confirmation separately

The SMSMeter USD-to-crypto quote lasts 15 minutes. This is the validity of those payment instructions, not a promise that the blockchain or account credit will complete within 15 minutes. If you have not sent and the quote expires, obtain a new invoice in Top up rather than using the old amount or address. If you sent before expiry but confirmation came later, keep the invoice and chain evidence; the expired display alone does not prove the funds were lost or credited.

The number activation has another expiry shown only after an order is placed. This is not the invoice timer. A pending top-up cannot be treated as spendable balance and does not reserve a number or its earlier price. Once credit appears, request a fresh live offer and review the order debit again.

A practical support packet

For a funding question, keep the account-owned invoice reference, selected coin and network, quoted crypto amount, receiving address, quote expiry and displayed invoice status. Keep the sender’s transaction hash (TxID), network, amount actually delivered and timestamp. A transaction hash is an identifier that can be checked on the relevant chain; it is not proof that the correct SMSMeter invoice was credited. Do not include an unrelated activation order reference unless the question concerns a separate number order.

If the transaction remains unconfirmed, investigate with the sending wallet or exchange. If it is confirmed but account credit is missing, compare the invoice and transaction evidence first, then check SMSMeter’s Contact page for an actual published channel. If none is published, retain the evidence until a legitimate route is available. Do not create and pay a second invoice simply to diagnose the first. Never send support a private key, recovery phrase, password or SMS code.

Questions before you act

Does an invoice number mean I have paid?

No. An invoice records instructions, not a transfer. Check the sender’s withdrawal status, a network TxID if one exists, and finally SMSMeter’s verified account credit.

Is $20 the crypto amount I must send or the price of one number?

Neither. $20 USD is the minimum account top-up. The invoice shows the exact crypto amount for the selected asset and network; a later available number has its own USD order quote. Sending-wallet fees are separate.

How long will network confirmation take?

It varies with the asset, network and conditions. This page does not promise a confirmation time; check the transaction and invoice statuses.

What if my quote expired after I sent?

Keep the invoice and transaction details and inspect the current status. Do not resend automatically or assume the eventual credit outcome without verified validation.

Can I switch from USDT TRC-20 to ERC-20 after creating the invoice?

No. Match the invoice’s selected token and network. If you already sent on a different network, keep the TxID and invoice and check published contact options. Recovery is not guaranteed.

My transaction is confirmed; why is my balance still pending?

Network confirmation proves a chain event, not that the correct coin, network, amount and address match the invoice or that SMSMeter has credited it. Compare those fields, retain the invoice reference and TxID, and check the actual account status before another payment.

Should I create another invoice and pay again?

First resolve the original transaction and invoice. If no contact channel is published, retain the evidence rather than making a second transfer. A duplicate payment does not fix a mismatch in the first.
